The Mechanical Engineer will assist the Project Manager and the Resident Engineer in coordinating the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project. The Mechanical Engineer will participate and handle in review and approval of all submittals by the contractor with a focus on quality assurance during the engineering phase of construction.
Job (Mechanical Engineer Jobs in Abu Dhabi – GHD) Responsibilities
- Assist the Resident Engineer or MEP Lead in performing the contractual duties on site.
- Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions to ensure progress on site.
- Advise the project manager of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress, quality and the like.
- Continually review the contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works.
- Review construction submittals from project inception to close-out.
- Review Contractor’s installation method statements.
- Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned subject area.
- Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the mechanical services works for Contractor’s alignment to the approved shop drawings and Consultant’s specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety.
Job (Mechanical Engineer Jobs in Abu Dhabi – GHD) Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Min of 10 years postgraduate experience and a min. of 7 years of similar work experience on large projects.
- Regional experience is preferred.
- Authority registration is preferred.
- A professional who can manage and coordinate specialized activity, field or team of moderate size and complexity.
